Interventions throughout the territory from 19 May.

The new disinfestation campaign promoted by Messinaservizi Bene Comune and scheduled throughout the city territory as part of the activities provided for in the service contract will start on Monday 19 May, starting at 9pm.

The interventions, organised according to a cyclic schedule, will take place during the summer months and will progressively affect the southern, central and northern areas of the city, with the aim of containing the proliferation of pests, in particular the tiger mosquito.

The first week of activity will see many areas engaged.

In the evening of Monday 19 Maywill take place from 9 p.m. in the southern area, starting from Tipoldo, Mili San Pietro and Mili San Marco, to Larderia Superiore, Larderia Inferiore, Mili Marina and Mili Moleti and Tremestieri. At the same time, on the same evening, at 9 p.m., the team will also operate in the city centre area, between Contrada Noviziato, Rione Gonzaga, Montepiselli (both lower and upper), Rione Fondo Ruggeri, Fondo Sterio and via Puntale Arena, with localised interventions also in the area of Cristo Re, including via dei Carrai and the surrounding areas, via Dino and Clarenza, via Saccano, piazza Basicò, via Grattoni and via Rocca Guelfonia, concluding in Scoppo.

Tuesday 20 MayFrom 9 pm, the interventions will continue in the southern area with Santa Lucia, while in the northern area, Via Duca degli Abruzzi, the square Via Brasile, Via Principessa Mafalda, Via Fulci, San Licandro, Annunziata, Via Olimpia, Via Umberto Fiore and Conca d'Oro will be affected.

In the evening of Wednesday 21 May, From 9 p.m., pest control will continue in the southern area in Zafferia, Villaggio Unrra, Pistunina and Villaggio CEP. In the northern area, operators will intervene from Torrente Trapani alto up to Via Nuova Panoramica, Viale Regina Elena and Viale della Libertà, the Piazza Castronovo square (upstream and sea side), the Manzoni square and the Via Palermo area with Badiazza.

Thursday 22 May, From 9pm, the southern area will be affected in Contesse, Minissale, Quadrato Gazzi, viale Gazzi, Rione Taormina and Quadrato Zir, while the northern area will be affected in the hilly areas of Massa San Giorgio, Massa Santa Lucia, Massa San Giovanni, Massa San Nicola and San Michele.

Friday 23 MayStarting at 9 pm, activities will continue in the southern area at Cumia (lower and upper), Bordonaro, Bordonaro Case Gialle, San Filippo upper, San Filippo lower and Piano Stella, with activities also at Case Gescal, San Giovannello and Baglio. In the northern area, the intervention will concern the Villaggio Giostra.

Saturday 24 MayThe first week of action will end at 9 p.m. with the activities planned in the southern area in the Villaggio Aldisio, Mangialupi and Fondo Fucile districts. On the same day, in the northern area, activities will be carried out in Ortoliuzzo, Rodia, Marmora, San Saba, SpartĂ  and Acqualadrone.

Citizens are reminded to take the necessary precautions during treatment, avoiding outdoor exposure of food and clothing, sheltering pets, closing windows and balconies and thoroughly washing fruit and vegetables grown in urban gardens or vegetable gardens. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the schedule may be subject to change.
