Paper week 2024: from today to Sunday Paper Week 2024 kicks off in Messina with "A Treasure of Paper!". Meetings with young people in schools to inform about statistics and curiosities and learn how to recycle paper and cardboard with games. And from tomorrow also student visits to the Peace Selection Centre for the 'RicicloAperto' event.
Today 8 April until Sunday 14 April at Messina "Paper Week 2024", the week dedicated to information and training on paper and cardboard recycling, organised by Comieco, in cooperation with Federazione Carta e Grafica, Unirima and under the patronage of ANCI, Ministero dell'Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica, Utilitalia and Rai per la Sostenibilità. Many moments with students and social appointments are planned to involve and raise awareness on the social pages of Messinaservices Common Good to explain the importance of recycling, with the transformation of paper from waste to resource and appointments with students.During Paper Week, the Messinaservices Common Good as part of the project "Messina 2030' signed together with the municipal subsidiary companies and the Provincial School Office of Messina, will meet students in schools, with educational and interactive moments that will directly involve students by offering them knowledge and practical tools to recognise the value of paper as a resource and the importance of proper waste separation. Through educational activities and discussions, students will become ambassadors of paper recycling to their families and the community.
The children will also be shown facts and statistics with numbers and facts about paper recycling at Messinaexplaining why it is essential to increase separate waste collection. Finally, many games such as 'Find the Intruder', where participants will have to identify objects that should not be disposed of with paper (such as tax receipts, greaseproof paper, or used tissues). And from tomorrow, visits to the Pace sorting plant for the 'RicicloAperto' event, of which Paper Week is also a part, will start. In fact, on Tuesday 9 April, at 9 a.m., a group of students from the La Pira Gentiluomo Institute will visit the Pace sorting plant, and immediately afterwards, at 10.30 a.m., it will be the turn of a group of students from the IIS F. Maurolico and the Liceo Scientifico Galilei (Spadafora). On Friday 24 at 9 a.m., a group of students from the Albino Luciani Institute will visit the plant, and then at 10.30 a.m. it will be the turn of another group of students from the IIS F. Maurolico. Finally, on Sunday 14 April, there will be a final reflection on the week, with an invitation to continue the good practices.
