Messinaservizi Bene Comune S.p.A. (MSBC) has embarked on a process to certify Gender Equality and in this context has set up a Steering Committee, appointed by the President of the Board of Directors, for the effective adoption and application of the Gender Equality Policy.

MSBC is committed to and reaffirms the principle of 'Zero Tolerance' in relation to physical, verbal and digital abuse (harassment). With this in mind, occupational violence and harassment prevention programmes are implemented, which determine the dangers, define the risks and the measures to be implemented. The implementation of the programme is made measurable through the definition of objectives that are related to monitoring and improvement actions such as:
- annual administration of questionnaires to define the level of perception and awareness of specific issues;
- use of the already active e-mail, guaranteeing the anonymity of the reporter, allowing workers to express their opinions and/or suggestions in order to create an environment open to discussion and dialogue in the area of gender equality and to report situations of inequality, any form of violence and/or discrimination suffered or witnessed.

The Steering Committee handles each report while guaranteeing the utmost confidentiality of the facts reported or highlighted, within the limits of freedom of investigation.
